  1. The one on Facebook announcing g their departure. Post from Gaz Owen
  2. The press release said he had agreed to stay but he has got a new job working in London and can’t play pt RL. on the Facebook thread it says Willy has signed for Salford
  3. He was playing half back when on loan at Featherstone
  4. I definitely think O’keefe will play centre before Morgan or Hirst
  5. It will be interesting to see who the other 8 or 9 signings are!
  6. Of course, today’s result may have further consequences regarding a restructure. Given Toulouse have been trying to get new owners and finance in place, losing out on SL may scupper that. The appeal of £1m + would have attractive to new owners. Not so now. They may decide to revert to the french league?
  7. I agree, it didn’t work last season
  8. Maybe Paga is being looked as a hooker then for next year.
  9. If they have, good luck to them. Hope they do well.
  10. I would think one or two will be worried playing is next season. This team would hold its own in the championship
  11. It’s a very strong speech. Sadly it will likely draw a few sniggers among the ruling body and the championship clubs
  12. Not in the long term but definitely in the short term.
  13. Bear in mind several clubs sailed close to the wind financially last year, Whitehaven was one, rumours that Widns ran close etc. Toulouse still aren’t out of the woods yet, rumours that they could revert to French league if they lose Saturday. So this situation isn’t just about what to do with 8 clubs but the game as a whole. I know Wakefield are remaining full time but Featherstone are going part time with the owner reducing his input. If the drawbridge is drawn to SL then a few clubs may reduce their ambitions and outside funding
  14. This season there were 14 clubs making 27 fixtures. If each club played each other once there would be 22 fixtures. Add to that 6 derby matches for each club that would give 27 same as this year. Out of interest does anyone know the funding structure proposed for next year?
  15. This was the problem at the last meeting. Ultimately the RFL may have to force the decision for the good of the sport.
  16. To be fair to the RFL, my understanding was this was one of the options put forward by them at the recent meeting. It was the Championship clubs who voted against it. Sane logic as the SL league clubs not wanting to expand because of reduced funding. Probably the risk of say 4 clubs being relegated to L 1 this season it may ultimately be taken out of their hands if deemed for the good of the overall structure
  17. It depends if they retain their RFL membership
  18. They are heavily invested into and in partnership with the football club. Much discussion has taken place with the RFL so hopefully okay. But this is about Thunder and the broader implications for the future of the game.
  19. So sad, but clearly RL is in a mess. London, Newcastle, who knows who else. Salford seem to be lurching from crisis to crisis and selling best players to survive blame is being put on RFL for decreasing the handout by £300k. Something clearly is not right!
  20. I thought that part of the IMG philosophy is that the pro club has strong bonds with the community clubs?
  21. We have never been so well informed by the board. Thanks Bill
