  1. Correct, every ticket the RFL had available was sold. Incidentally, the last England football game there had over 10k fewer spectators, and that had a lot of offers trying to get folks in after the World Cup performances, so less than 5k below capacity on the day is a major achievement, not a reason to moan.
  2. I think really, it's now down to how much the RFL are prepared to go in the bail out, and under what terms. Something for juniors to aspire to is one thing, but surely they have to go watch and want to be part of it as well. The free season ticket deal a year or so back showed they only wanted to play for their club side, not go watch S/L for nowt. Honestly don't know what happens next. How deep are the RFL pockets this time, what impact will Quins folding have on Juniors?(I suspect very little on the second bit if the development officers are still in place)
  3. My daughter loved it.... Today:my son is 21. He's been doing volunteer work (or else he lost Jobseekers) at Cheshire Dog's Home, but was in pole position if a vacancy came up. Last week, one did, he's starting full-time paid employment Tuesday, and he loves it. He'd been doing it as good as free for months, now he'll be paid for looking after dogs with "issues" (loads of Staffies etc) and after yesterday's Wembley trip, he's a happy bunny, and I'm made up for him. Be sad to wave him off at the station, but he'll have some cash, maybe can visit more in future.
  4. True, hence the half dozen threads with folks with spare tickets on offer, and the only way I got in myself via one of those such threads...
  5. I'll add Batley to the list, sat in front of me. Plus the others mentioned.
  6. Att given out as 85200 odd, maybe there looked a few more than 5k empty seats, but pretty full. Club Wembley has to be sorted next time the deals are negotiated, empty prime seats, not good if you're stuck up in the rafters if better seats were available.
  7. Behave, Hanners, no side is totally clear of it. I know we have a few we don't really need, most sides do. The seats I had, via"the punt" were very mixed, mainly Wires, but Widnes, Halifax, Wigan and others were there, as well as a few Leeds fans. NO hassle, it's the very tiny minority who taint the decent fans with that 1 brush. No doubt, once released, Wezza will give full details of what happened.....
  8. Thought that's what was meant, which is why I clarified. Hope they sort something, I did notice the comment as he announced he was leaving, but let it ride, it's for the "suits" to sort out, if they can.
  9. Max, you're "hopeful" the Quins experiment has failed? I do agree with the brand being overshadowed, though.
  10. Nerves kicking in, my son has got here from Warrington, all systems go. Guy with our tickets knows to look for me 13:25, Wembley Stadium station. Told him I'll be the 1 in the Wires shirt.... Hope neither side freezes on the day now.....
  11. edit out your number, ask for pm's for details mate, better safe... You'll have to edit your quote out of post#2 as well...
  12. 3 Grand Final wins on the bounce show Leeds don't bottle the big games anymore. We, sadly, still have a tendency to, but have won at the new Wembley, will Wembley experience count on the day? I can see it being down to the odd goal, or even drop goal, hopefully with us as winners, but if not, just hope Silverwood isn't an issue in the final analysis. I'll enjoy the day/occasion, Wires win will be icing, but not world ending if 3 times Champs Leeds take our cup, we then have to take their title...(which we want anyway. ) 30-29, to either.
  13. Nat. Rail website had no issues flagged, it's a different route, overland with Chiltern Railways, goes via Wycombe, not Amersham (though that route might have problems, didn't check...), you flagged up underground issues. I edited in the train times after I looked it up.
  14. Instead of Amersham, head for Aylesbury, Princes Risboro, High Wycombe, or similar on the Chiltern line, for a train to Wembley Stadium Station. I'll be in the Green Man, Aylesbury Market sq, less than a 5 min walk to the station for pre-train (12:33 dep, arrive 13:25) drinkies. 2 real ales, food, stunning landlady, perfect venue.... Oh yeah, Ben Westwood.
  15. I'd watch Soccer Saturday if I was bored and nothing else to do, usually a laugh or 2, but otherwise makes no difference whatsoever.
  16. Can't remember us ever beating skints in a semi, Frank, unless it was a Brian Bevan effort that still riles you. When we did play Skints in a semi at Central Park, John Bevan was pulled back for a forward pass which would have won it, and if thrown by Skints would have been given. We lost 12-8, I think. However, refs see the game from 1 angle, full speed, it's the way it was. Video calls, however, surely they can't get so many apparently wrong? If there's a serious doubt, I'll say they should deny the try now, benefit the defence for something.
