  1. So does that mean an appeal has been lodged? The RFL use Sports Resolution all the time. They're the lot named for appeals to the grading scores for example.
  2. There's a World Cup in 2026. In Australia. Be quite a good idea to have some experience of playing together as a team out there in advance.
  3. There's been a tribunal about it and everything.
  4. My mistake here was assuming that because he actually named someone there would be something to it - I tend to assume he's got some truth, he's just thick and misunderstands it. The damage it does to the game though because we have a rumour based info eco system is that a load of people will now have this as a half memory, "Didn't a London deal fall through?" rather like how we now have the zombie "Bedford were buying Cornwall's licence" that is still said by some despite being debunked within a day or two.
  5. I think it's irrelevant to a thread about a deliberate failure to follow a basic procedure and then lying about it.
  6. Took until Graeme woke up for it to be denied https://x.com/G18EME/status/1854806044465058083

  8. The bit in bold is the important bit, however it's achieved.
  9. I'd stick with it being in Australia. Cricket tried them overlapping and all that happened was that women's got massively overshadowed. May as well use it as an opportunity for England women to get experience of touring and play some games where rep games might not usually be played. And double headers remain terrible ideas. But they will switch it and do it about as half baked as possible.
  10. Some people just want to watch the world burn.
  11. With the usual caveats about source, Gledhill is reporting that both London and Cornwall are close to being sold, the latter with the assurance they will stay in Cornwall.
  12. A wonkily scheduled quadruple header that guarantees empty stands for two of the games? Yes, please!
  13. Not often shocked but Coventry sacking Mark Robins ...
  14. The MPs can ask about this and the RFL can say that the tribunal followed agreed processes, the information about the notes is in the public domain, and that they have improved their HIA protocols and medical oversight in particular. And then the MPs can go off for lunch happy that they have done what some letter writers, and 869 signatories to an online petition, have asked them to do. Meanwhile ... has the appeal gone in?
  15. It's the new home shirt.
  16. Should they exist, London Broncos:
  17. Have they thought about a 9s weekend?
  18. Oh look: The NRL needs Vegas to make financial sense quickly. That means selling all 65,000 seats and an uptick in viewing figures to outweigh the travel costs, stadium hire and hassle. With TV deals already in place to cover every game, these events need to be added to the calendar or severely souped up to make money. Also - don't think I've seen it put on here - Matthew Shaw reporting there will be no WCC next year.
  19. I did think about not doing but figured it would be like an unfired Chekhov's gun.
  20. The RFL can't afford to lose that kind of money.
  21. Australia is mental for gambling. Hooked on it more than any other nation. Normalised to an extent that makes the UK's relationship with booze look positively puritan. Everything Australian sports do is structured around that - he said with a massive sweeping generalisation - therefore things like early team sheets are very useful to get people to think about their bet, the odds, what else to put some money on. Being less cynical - Australia's number one sport is cricket and they obsess about team sheets so maybe it's more linked to that. I'm going to go with the gambling reason though.
  22. Bolton is slightly larger than Wigan but, after that, you move into grounds that are much bigger. How brave are the RFL feeling?
  23. Though those aren't complete. There is also: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/County_Championship_(rugby_league) https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rugby_League_War_of_the_Roses

  25. Not like you to fall behind three big city franchises being plonked into the top tier. On thread, I had so many good times at Carlisle. It would be great to see them back but I think any expansion in Cumbria is further away now than ever.
