  1. Spot on the idea this is only in RL is a nonsense. I go back to a cricket WC over here a few years ago games were played on a pitch with a tree in the outfield. There was even specific rules for the tree so a four if the ball bounced and hit it and a six if it hit it on the full.
  2. Great game to go to for your first game Meninga was an absolute beast in that and the premiership final that year.
  3. They have but they are still allowed to punch each other in the head and also continue after obviously being concussed. The boxers taking part can’t take them to court saying they didn’t think this was going to happen though. Or that they felt like the governing body allowed it to happen as that is a clear part of the sport they are taking part in.
  4. Again that’s because if you enter a boxing ring you accept you are going to get punched in the head. That’s why the RFL don’t have to worry about accidental head clashes they are unfortunately part of the game. No where in the RL laws does it say when you are taking the ball in someone is going to smash you in the head. This is what the RFL can control and must be seen to be doing something on. Maybe if all the coaches player and fans who moaned when the clamp down came in had given it chance they wouldn’t need to be bringing these measures in.
  5. This rule isn’t to stop players getting concussions it’s to prove the RFL are doing all they can to protect players. So if players want to break the rules and do contact work in the own time that’s their choice. In the same way players could play football or box in their own time it isn’t any business of the RFLs.
  6. Yes and it just looks like they are including the defenders head as part of the tackle. Which I think is fair enough it’s good technique for defenders to get their head out of the way anyway.
  7. Surely we aren’t surprised if the RFL does things a bit rubbish.
  8. It’s a good joke but I can’t believe it’s took you 35 years to put it together.
  9. They are changes to allow the game to keep going into the future. The RFL can’t stop accidental head clashes and they will be seen as part of the game that players accept by stepping onto the pitch. The same way boxing isn’t having the same issues as either code of rugby because boxers know when they step into a ring they will be punched in the head. These new rules are simply to prove the RFL are doing all they can to stop players being hit illegally.
  10. Can I ask the people against these changes why they are so against it. What massive change do they think will happen by reducing the tackle height by 4”.
  11. Some clubs like Dewsbury,Hull and Fev it’s quite hard to #### the kit up. Yet every now and then they still can.
  12. The plan can’t be that this is the acceptable level forever there has to be room to lift standards/push clubs on.
  13. I don’t think it’s true anyway I’m sure people have received awards within a couple of years.
  14. I don’t dispute that just that slowing down the attacking ptb wont necessarily reduce collisions. Obviously if you clamp down on what defenders can do and speed the ptb up that probably will reduce collision speeds.
  15. It will slow the game down slightly if the attacking side are forced to ptb correctly. I actually think that will increase collision speeds as you be more likely to be running at a set defense coming onto you.
  16. The sooner the Wembley of the north is built in Tydlesley the better and they can go back to being a giant of the game.
  17. So you think players struggling in the NRL never get a new lease of life in SL.
  18. Really clever signing that. He’s the sort of player who although he’s lacked confidence for a few years in the NRL the extra space he’ll get in SL could help him get back to something like his best.
