  1. Can't see hull kr being under threat unless they implode. The assumption that the cru are safe no matter what, well i don't share that confidence. Paul Retout leaving the club smells funny to me.
  2. I would love to make you happy i really would. Next year maybe. Lets hope you don't become eighth spot chokers!
  3. The version i played with the mighty cardiff cavaliers was limited tackles. No kicking, a step over like you say, five metre retreat by the defence and the dummy half would concede possession if tackled. We even used a steeden ball! Great game but knackering. You end up literally chasing the defenders so that you get touched and they fail to make the 5, conceding another set. Old buggers like me get targetted for that. Only passed (tactically speaking) near the opponents line.
  4. I've got a feeling that some lawyers are going to be making some money this time round.
  5. "LICENSING AND CRITERIA FOR A SUPER LEAGUE LICENCE (JANUARY 2010) A1:6 (a) There shall be no promotion or relegation between Super League and Championship from the 2008 Season onwards. Instead for the 2009 Season and for every 3 seasons after that, the Board shall invite applications for membership of Super League from: (i) current Super League Clubs; (ii) Clubs in the Championships that meet minimum standards set by the Board; and (iii) any overseas clubs invited to apply by the Board. Those Clubs being offered and accepting a Super League Licence for 3 years shall participate in Super League
  6. Wasn't it played under 5m for a while? Or am i mis-remembering? Would like to see some footage of that to compare.
  7. If you bothered to read the comment i was responding to its pretty obvious why i brought my club into it. You can build up your club and bid as much as you like. It's a good bid and it deserves success especially looking at the likely alternatives, although personally i don't want to see either wakefield or castleford thrown out. But calling any decision a disgrace unless it means widnes are in is arrogance and special pleading.
  8. Not demanding? You said it would be a disgrace and fans would walk away from the sport but thats not demanding? Yeah sure buddy. You have fulfilled the criteria for applying to join the superleague. Thats it. If toulouse were allowed in without participating in a grand final then everyone should be miffed becuase they would have not qualified to apply. Nobody was talking about that and you know it. Laughable. Its a rediculous attitude that can't be backed up by anybody sane so you retreat from it. My attitude to widnes is that they should be superleague. The fact that i want to see you get thrashed is a sporting rivalry, the fact that you can't see that says it all about the whining little poor us attitude that a lot of widnes fans seem to adopt. Oh let me guess you don't want us to go out of existence but... Yeah the great rugby league family, locals only need apply. "I'm not against expansion but but but..."
  9. Because you are acting like arrogant kids "you must let us in you must you must". You say you demand a fair process but for you its only fair if you are automatically in"! So fax, barrow, leigh current c license clubs etc should just lie down and apologise for daring to get in your way. Every club that is serious deserves a fair go! All this the rfl hate widnes ######! Seriously what are you on about? Why would the rfl hate widnes but not warrington or wakefield? Why would your face not fit as opposed to any other heartland club with a long history? It makes no sense. The RFL may make the wrong decision or the right one but it is theres to make as the governing body for the whole sport and should not allow themselves to blackmailed by bitter fans. Ironically and luckily for you your club owner isn't like that and thats exactly why you probably will get in. I hope you do and i hope you get thrashed every game and the rfl bring back relegation and promotion two weeks from the end of the season.
  10. The job of the rfl is to make the best decision as it sees it in the interest of the sport. Personally i think that, on the face of it, it should be widnes but your attitude stinks quite frankly.
  11. I thought about it and decided no, even though you asked nicely What you worrying about anyway, you guys are out of the race for eighth spot
  12. Unfortunately my impression from the neath game was that the organisation hasnt really improved since the bridgend days - programme sellers outside but not inside, a badly hand written sign for the food area that a village fete would be ashamed of, no merchandise selling except after the game in a small and packed club house - but at least you could pay on the gate! Sometimes its all about getting the basics right and done with some quality. One day maybe.
  13. Gwan Cru! We're coming to getcha Classy Cas! The battle for the honour of getting hammered by a much better team is well and truly on! Well done boys - made yet another working sunday tolerable!
  14. It isnt, i dont think, directly a wru decision. AFAIK the millinium stadium comp. is charged with making best use of the stadium to generate the income to cover the recently restructured debts from building the thing. In truth the wru cant afford to be that picky seeming that they lost: fa cup final, play off finals, league cup final and the challenge cup final and concerts have been cancelled because of the recession.
  15. Woo and also hoo. Will get a weekend ticket as soon as. The rfl need to hire a few places to organise events, parties, seminars, meet and greets, etc etc to give it that festival feel and more publicity purlease. Apart from that pub stadium, pub, stadium, pub, stadium, pub - can't be beat.
  16. We will be favourites for once but i see a tough game. Home advantage and some sort of stuttering momentum gives it to us by 6 points.
  17. To be honest only jordan and sammut stood out for me. Everyone else was a bit flat although mostly competent.
  18. personally i think we will beat hull fc away as well!
  19. True but then its so sad thats its considered important one way or the other. Where were the first internationals played? Cheltenham wasnt it? And its taken people down there to properly celebrate and mark that in the all golds cup and the cheltenham 9s. And people talk of tradition.
  20. Sorry mate that's utter defeatist bollix. The welsh don't hate something just because it's English. There us a lingering disdain in some circles that league took players in years gone by but that's it. League is struggling but it's an unbelievably difficult and expensive thing to grow a sport in a area with other established sports. Whether that's Wales or anywhere else. It takes time, patience, money and luck. Which itself requires will.
