I agree with you cofi. I like seeing the half backs take on a tired set of forwards on the scoot. They are still risking it and seem to twist and turn trying to gain every advantage. Leeds taking on the saints around the ruck opened up the game today, giving it a more broken field feel. Personally i would like to see the interchanges reduced to encourage this a bit more, making coaching decisions in this area more tactical.

Watching the game today (split shifts sometimes useful!) something that struck me was that although the game was very enjoyable, especially the last half hour, the players were very familiar to each other. Although the idea of the extended world club challenge is problematic i would be happy for a reduced superleague season to make the room for it. It would give a very welcome extra dimension to the club game. I would roughly speaking favour top four versus top four, with the ladder leaders getting an advantage but not automaticaly in a final.

No but his family is very welsh, with a grandfather who played for welsh ru national side. I'm always bumping into people with english accents but you try telling them they're not welsh.

The version i played with the mighty cardiff cavaliers was limited tackles. No kicking, a step over like you say, five metre retreat by the defence and the dummy half would concede possession if tackled. We even used a steeden ball! Great game but knackering. You end up literally chasing the defenders so that you get touched and they fail to make the 5, conceding another set. Old buggers like me get targetted for that. Only passed (tactically speaking) near the opponents line.

If you bothered to read the comment i was responding to its pretty obvious why i brought my club into it. You can build up your club and bid as much as you like. It's a good bid and it deserves success especially looking at the likely alternatives, although personally i don't want to see either wakefield or castleford thrown out. But calling any decision a disgrace unless it means widnes are in is arrogance and special pleading.

The RFL may make the wrong decision or the right one but it is theres to make as the governing body for the whole sport and should not allow themselves to blackmailed by bitter fans. Ironically and luckily for you your club owner isn't like that and thats exactly why you probably will get in. I hope you do and i hope you get thrashed every game and the rfl bring back relegation and promotion two weeks from the end of the season.
