  1. Oh bum. Not much luck with injuries recently
  2. Jubby is definitely doing less with the ball in hand than he used to. Whether this is to conserve energy as Fordy seems to have been looking to get 80 minutes out him of all season, I don't know. We definitely benefitted from the injection of pace from dummy half that Inman brought.
  3. Move after move off the training ground from Batley. Nothing like the same from York. Do we even run attacking drills? Cockayne has his work cut out to give us some spark again.
  4. Zero hunger from the first minute. Absolutely shocking.
  5. Aye, gonna be a warm one! Not the conditions for slogging it up the middle so I'd love to think we'll give the ball a bit of air. I'm at that stage of being a York supporter where the result is not the be all and end all any more, but I would like to see us play some entertaining rugby.
  6. I know this will be unpopular but i can't help but feel that any flair and individualism is gradually coached out of the halves we have at our disposal. The only half that has had the character to resist that over recent years was Ben Cockayne.
  7. But I just don't see how 5 drives and a kick to the corner can fail.....?

    Today

Absolute masterclass from Sammut today, particularly his kicking from hand. Starting to really puzzle over our three halves thing. If BOH really is our best option then why isn't he playing from the first minute? We looked better after he came on but were already playing catch up by then. As for the first 40 mins of 5 drives and a kick to the corner - and why is it the same corner every single time? - we looked short of ideas and it was a hard watch. Ah well, can't win em all and today the best team won. On to the next one.
  9. Couldn't agree more. Think Fordy mentioned in a radio York interview a couple of weeks back that he has learnt the lesson from the 2019 season where too many players finished the season running on empty. So important we look after the likes of Kirmond, Thompson, Clarkson and Jubby who can all put in log shifts but will take more recovery time as the season progresses. Picking up Antrobus was a part of that I'm sure.
  10. Would hope it is to give him a bit of a breather. Although Will is an absolute machine who can do the full 80 mins I'm sure Fordy will be wary of burning him out before we get to the business end of the season. Hope that's the case anyway.
  11. I think James Ford will rest a few following the short turnaround from Thursday. Still more than enough quality in the Knights squad to see off London but i don't think it will be the blow out some expect.

    bulls away

Can't be fun watching your team play on that pitch every other week. Really enjoyed the rivalry that has come about between us over the last few seasons, and there's been some cracking games during that time. Look forward to seeing you for a more open game at the LNER.

    bulls away

Interesting what you say about the pitch Bullmania. Fordy was less than complimentary about it after the game. Loads of hysterics on SM from Bulls fans talking about relegation form. You're a way better team than that. It wasn't easy today, and i dont imagine there'll be too much between the teams for the return match later in the season.

    In The Sheds

First episode on the Knights YouTube channel. Absolutely fascinating watch and i look forward to further installments. https://youtube.com/c/YorkCityKnightsRLFC
  15. You are right, SK. And on reflection I realise there are worse things happen to far better people. This is only rugby after all. But season tickets are promoted by clubs on a value for money basis, so to have some of that value eroded at no fault of the purchaser does, in my opinion, justify a degree of highlighting. 500 quid all in one go was a hell of an outlay for me! I certainly don't don't think it is fair to just dismiss this as moaning and to shut down discussion.
  16. Absolutely. But i would say that it is even less the fault of supporters.
  17. Yep. Got season tickets for me, my dad, the wife and the kids. Evening games on a school night mean kids can't come, which means the other half can't come. Second time this has happened. Plus my dad is in mid 80s so couldn't go to the last evening game as he couldn't have stood the cold. Pretty cheesed off with this if I'm honest, having stumped up the 500 quid to support the club. How are they supporting us in return?
  18. Enjoyed every second of that. The fitness level of that Welsh team is incredible. Flat out for 80 minutes playing total rugby. Thank you for posting.
  19. Thanks George. I'll wait and see if they send anything out and if not I'll drop them a line.
  20. How does one get a code from the Knights?
  21. By 'eck tha talks some ###### Coolie. The guy played for Australia school boys in 2012. I'm pretty sure they check documents before you play representative rugby rather than just let you turn up willy nilly. On another note - Ross Peltier isn't a bad signing for you guys. He's always looked strong whenever I've seen him play. Stands up well in the tackle and can be a bit of a handful near the line.
  22. Fantastic signing! Brings us that little bit of maverick who can make something from nothing that we've missed from the squad since Cockayne hung up his boots. Well done all at the Knights
