  1. Amateur games has no TV deals, nothing to play for?? League champions and 1895 cup
  2. Well firstly you sell tickets to the games, you get sponsors and more importantly you build up the connections to the local communities and community clubs, schools. You get local businesses on board and hey presto you have a club. Amateur clubs have no problem doing all of the above its the next level that can't or won't do this.
  3. LMS , Clubb, miski ? And a lot of other players, national recognition, I agree with moving around it isn't good but you can't knock the growth and improvement, infact its the rfl failure to have internationals in the capital thats the failure
  4. The incentive is to build a club and not a team. Newcastle arguably did a lot right but have been sqeezed out, like Toronto and the other expansion clubs.
  5. Manchester is in the middle of Yorkshire and Lancashire, perfect for a final to a season that is played between the 2 old areas. And of course catalan but this doesn't matter to them as it will always be a plane ride
  6. Yes ?? Harlequins went bust after harlequins bought them when the quins were relegated, moved them to their stadium, had joint sessions with the academies then sent them under. They were bought out of administration with no debt
  7. Smaller numbers in a basketball team / squad so more to go around. The game is televised, is global , is an Olympic sport and has global superstars. In the UK it is played around the country and is on the school cariculam
  8. Union club buys league club, union club doing well now, union club closes league club down. Didnt this happen in London as well ? Think both union clubs were in the second tier for a spell too. Presume the union club is struggling financially like the other ones. Can we not implement a proper persons owner test and stop union entities buying RL clubs ?
  9. Lost fans because you got beat? Not proper fans then
  10. Both clubs will add a new area to the game, additional reach with fans, sponsors, player production etc... When London were in SL we had a top level academy, a team in league 1 and a proper pathway. We also had an international crowd away from the m62.... Long live expansion
  11. If Hull win tomorrow sub 30k
  12. Of course it does haha, French clubs don't travel and bring smaller crowds etc... Leigh have a great following etc... Average attendance for the league is higher with toulouse rather than Leigh. Proves that toulouse / French clubs raise average attendances rather than reduce them and are an asset to the comps
  13. Matching it with the aussies ?? Saints beat 2 Australian sides in Australia. Panthers won a third title on the bounce but looked ordinary against saints, they were relived to take it to extra time.
  14. Overall average attendance is up, so it dispels the myth of what do French clubs bring. What was Toulouse average out of interest?
  15. The issue was going to both not one...
  16. So toulouse increased attendances vs leigh last year, interesting...
  17. No you wouldn't choose the cheapest you would choose the big game ie the final. Why watch an earlier round when you have been watching all year building for the final. Don't make the final then its cash in the bank towards next year's ST or maybe go an international game. Home game vs OT with the razzmatazz, build up, band, anthems , trophy celebrations, fireworks etc...
  18. It is just the pace of the game, but I don't expect you to understand just being a speckie
  19. Speed of player doesn't mean bigger collisions, speed of play is how fast the game moves, not speed of collisions they are 2 seperate things. The players are not that much quicker its the speed of passing, kicking, decision making, everything is a millisecond or more quicker. The aussie game is quicker but they always comment on the increased physicality when coming to our comp.
  20. Added to the previous 2 rounds.. it adds up
  21. So a home game followed by an away game (potentially in france) and then a final, thats a lot of money 3 weeks on the bounce
  22. Yes and the higher the level the less physical and more quicker it is
  23. Pace of the game not pace of the players , that would just be silly
  24. A lot of rugby fans will also be ST holders of footy clubs, footy season is back on, lots of internationals in RU and NFL, soccer etc and its coming into party / Christmas time. The RFL are also flogging the internationals to THE SAME set of fans!
  25. 50 for a family of 4 is 200 !
