  1. Cannot believe we are at Saturday night and no one has started this match thread. This should give us the opportunity to get back to winning ways and also give a much needed confidence boost. A couple of key injuries has given others a chance to show their worth and also get some game time and then we have a free weekend before a run of very difficult but important games where hopefully Levi and Bradley as well as Callum from his HIA will be available for selection again. Forecast is good so lets all drag someone along tomorrow and buy a few pints to help get those much needed funds into the club. UTT
  2. This is so frustrating as I am not sure what more the Club can do to generate more interest. Away support has not been great but we all need to drag a few friends along to boost numbers through the gate as that is the only way the Club will be able to attempt to keep the likes of Zarin and Levi here and I am sure everyone on here would agree that both have been great signings and are the type of player we need if Championship rugby is to return to the Fibrus. This is the best squad we have had for many years so lets get the numbers through the gate to support it. I will be in the VIP Lounge tomorrow and will be bringing 3 friends along and it is great to see that the Sponsors/VIP Lounge is sold out again.
  3. Penalty was for us pushing the player into the ground and Red card was for his reaction to that and punching our player.
  4. Torrential rain right before kick off probably favoured Goole more than us but to be fair to Goole they kept plugging away and until that wonder try by Zarin it was an uncomfortable last few minutes. We made a few handling errors first half but were fairly solid in defence until the second Goole try where I lost count of how many tackles we missed.Happy to get the win and move onto next week against Dewsbury to avenge our cup defeat to them earlier in the season and I also think Mr Sweet actually had a decent game today and had the correct call with the Red Card.
  5. So this weekend will see us welcome another new Club to the Fibrus Stadium. Considering the players they brought in and going dual reg with both Hull and Hull KR I think they will be disappointed with the start they have made. Really looking forward to this game and I was planning to do the VIP lounge with some friends but have had to book it for the Dewsbury game as it was already fully booked which is fantastic to hear as these are the additional cash streams that keep the club alive. The work Graeme and our amazing team of volunteers put in to make sure the match day experience is more than just on the field is one of the major improvements we have seen over the last couple of seasons. If everyone could just drag along a friend to this match and they can see what an exciting team we have put together I would hope they would return for more of the same against Dewsbury. We need to build the fanbase if we are to improve the squad even further and really push on for Championship Rugby next season.
  6. Like many games this season this is not a given and we will have to be at our best to get the win.Lovely day for it so hoping for a good crowd to get behind the lads and get the first win under our belt.
  7. Or could be Jim Henson as he had a lot to do with the Muppets
  8. Very tough game as many will be this season. I really enjoy our games against Midlands and they have improved year on year for me building a very useful team With the quality and experience Jonty has brought to our club I am hoping for a win but it is far from a given but these are the type of games we will need to win if we are to achieve anything this season.
  9. Remember he could be right as Haven do not pay their players or the Tax man
  10. Very welcome addition and look forward to seeing him in our pack.
  11. This shows we definitely lack strength in depth which we will need in this league. Very slow and predictable but at least no money draining trip to London. Apart from a couple of errors I thought the Referee had a decent game but she was poorly assisted by the touch judges.
  12. And thank god someone at the club had the foresight to ensure this happened as I would not trust this Council to do anything that would benefit us. Our match day experience and hospitality offerings generate vital income for the club and that is down to the hard work, dedication and vision Graeme and the board have implemented supported by many volunteers. In my opinion Derwent Park should have been the choice for redevelopment as it has the far better footprint and is less likely to flood in future.
  13. Even though it would mean I am missing the game it has to be a Sunday Afternoon for us to get the best Gate receipts.
  14. I am away on the Sunday as well From a Finance point of view for the Club I think Saturday afternoon kick off would be better as there would be a lot less away support for a Friday night game.
  15. An absolute Legend for Haven and a true Gentleman so sad to hear of his passing. Thoughts go out to his family
  16. The other huge positive with Jake is the 2 year contract which shows the clubs intent to keep building longer term and the player happy to commit to their plans.
  17. Also a quality player on a 2 year deal which is great news
  18. So sad that what we were expecting has finally been confirmed and JJ has decided to hang up his boots. Speaks volumes for the Lad with what he has put in his post and the way he has let us know his reasons for coming to his decision. Reading that just confirms what I have said on here many times when people are having a go at Players that the sacrifice they do for little financial reward is huge. JJ has put it much better than I ever could but I would like to thank him for the time he has spent at the Club and he always put a shift in when on the pitch. Good luck in all you do going forward
  19. What an amazing night and huge Kudos to the board for coming up with such a unique way of revealing the squad so far. Graeme Peers spoke with so much passion and he has taken the club light years ahead of where we were when he took over the role of interim chairman. A packed out Marquee all bought into what the clubs long term targets are in what will be tough league next year with Keighley spending big and Goole.Midlands and Crusaders recruiting well but Jonty was clear that we do not worry about them but that we make them worry about us. Never been this excited about a season starting for many years
  20. Ticket booked and really looking forward to the evening
  21. We are still a C but huge Kudos to the small team of Volunteers who managed to collate all the required data in time for the grading. We are heading in the right direction off the field and hopefully with Jonty we can now sort out the playing side of things and hopefully add the new Stadium in the mix and the future could be very good indeed.
  22. Fantastic achievement and well done to everyone involved I really enjoyed the couple of games I managed to get down to watch
  23. Best of luck at Hunslet on Sunday and I see no reason why you cannot turn them over unless Matty Beharrell is allowed to referee the game.
  24. You are totally right and he is not even in the same league as those players or the likes of the Pattinsons and Damage etc my point about the dark arts was more about how he manages to get reactions out of players and then roll around like a baby and constantly conning the Referee and getting his own way. Premiership Footballer springs to mind
