  1. I think you will find that it very much certainly has. How else do you explain the crackdown on contact with the head?
  2. One outcome of this will be the hysteria and interest around the evil Aussies when the tournament does proceed. There will certainly be a very partisan atmosphere.
  3. If you read the statement, player welfare was the main point of the entire release.
  4. Why is it completely different? Excuse me, I must have missed the part where the RLWC was going replicate the Olympics by hosting all fixtures with no crowds and house the players and officials inside a bio secure athletes village. The organisers may have done an admiral job in making the RLWC as safe as possible for the players. Unfortunately, the organisers do not have access to the same resources as the Euros or Olympics do to ensure the safety of participants, officials and fans. Have the Olympic athletes and Participants in Euro been under the same arduous restrictions as NRL players have the last 16 months?
  5. Olympics and Euros are completely different tournaments that have their own challenges and deemed to have overcome them. Those events proceeding and the measures undertaken to have them proceed will be unique to those tournaments and completely different to the measures required (and the financial ability) for the RLWC.
  6. If they didn’t do that, there wouldn’t be an NRL. Don’t be naive. If you don’t understand the landscape of the requirements for professional domestic sport here, don’t make statements that demonstrate your ignorance.
  7. They haven’t been living in the same bubble conditions for the last 16 months that the NRL players have. That’s a start isn’t it?
  8. I am certain the RLPA have been in discussion, as they would kick up a stink if they hadn’t. It would be a case of one out, all out.
  9. The domestic game being in trouble has absolutely nothing to do with the presence or lack thereof an international scene. Then she is ignorant to current global conditions and mindsets.
  10. I suspect they have yes. Moreso than I expect they haven’t. So what? Completely different circumstances and since when do two wrongs make a right?
  11. Doesn’t paint the club in a good light. Nor does it present the club as a go to destination for rising Brits. Certainly not in the way that has been embraced recently at least. Sounds pretty genuine to me. It has taken this difficult season for me to remember why I don’t like Ricky. He was ok there a while, when the Raiders were flying high. He is a very sore loser and a lot of that article demonstrates that.
  12. And then go back to the beginning and listen to them all. It is brilliant
  13. If you haven’t been listening to the Rugby League Digest’s In Depth Investigation Into The Super League War podcast series then do yourself a favour. Latest episode is part two of three for a chapter titled Chapeltown Road, discussing British RL from late 70s into the 90s and the SL war. Far and away the best high brow RL content available right now. https://podcasts.apple.com/au/podcast/the-rugby-league-digest/id1207627414?i=1000524004838 https://podcasts.apple.com/au/podcast/the-rugby-league-digest/id1207627414?i=1000524916613
  14. Mate I hold nothing against Wakie fans, or any fans really (except most Melbourne Storm, Brisbane Broncos, Penrith Panthers and... well ok, I do hold bad feeling about a few, but not Wakie) and I wish I could get excited about a thread like this rather than burst into fits of laughter. I feel your pain though. Shark Park is probably the biggest dump in the NRL.
  15. Ahahahahahahahahahahahahaha Aaaaaaaaahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha haha, oh mercy, good one
  16. Tim Tszyu with an easy round one knockout yesterday which followed Paul Gallen’s decision victory against Mark Hunt. Tim eyeing up a world title shot in 2021.
  17. Haha, Dunbar is a goodun, I don’t really have beef with anyone on here. I treat it like a bunch of guys at my local. We all love the same thing. Some of us just have different opinions sometimes. I feel like calling something precious or anything else similar is like having banter around the table with a few pints under our belts
  18. Try Tag Rugby participants in the UK were all registered as RL participants for Sport England purposes. I anticipate the only way this arrangement has changed would have been with the rapidly contracting presence the RFL has in London, where the original relationship was created and fostered.
  19. There is issue that both Tag and Touch have international governing bodies as opposed to Rugby 7s, which like Union, is governed by World Rugby. https://www.internationaltouch.org http://www.internationaltagfootball.com These two organisations are not currently on the radar with GAISF, but would be far better equipped to be recognised internationally as the governors of their sports before IRL is. The unfortunate circumstance is that both organisations are the ones holding the registrations and would be unlikely to consider becoming a sub branch of RL without a significant benefit. A financial commitment comes to mind.
  20. I reckon most if not all QLD Cup teams would beat TO. A few would prob beat Catalan. Always wondered about potential for RL in places like New Caledonia and Vanuatu. Large enough population. I reckon the Tahiti link may we’ll be a little difficult to maintain from NC.
  21. Still the funniest song video of all time (watch to the end and don’t skip) and a great song to boot “So who is your favourite genius? James Hird or James Joyce?”
  22. I’m not sure it is great for their cap at all. Nonway we will secure a player as good as him for the money we were paying
