  1. Whoever wins the GF, Leigh are the club of the year. If we’re being honest, Leigh were a little bit of a joke going into this season but nobody’s laughing at them now after finishing 5th and winning the Challenge Cup.
  2. Wasn’t the VR trying to ascertain whether the contact was “flush” and ended up giving the try after being unable to find conclusive evidence either way?
  3. We all know there was no actual obstruction. My issue is with the way the VR hid under the on field decision like a frightened lamb under a ewe.
  4. As it’s my Grandad’s, I’m going to say a carton of Silk Cut and a copy of the Birmingham Evening Mail.
  5. The average winning point margin in the 3rd and final round of RLWC21 group stage fixtures was 55. Let me know the same for RUWC23 when we get there.
  6. That’s the speciality of Jonathan Davies. Sheer pace! Bobbie Goulding injecting the spark in the middle and Wales’ hero finished off at the corner. Sheer magic! Know it off by heart. Love that try. I think the memorable ones are where the commentator’s passion takes over. They lose control a bit. They sound like fans.
  7. Bill Arthur is an overpromoted touchline reporter. Sorry, but he is terrible.
  8. Repackage. I assume that's sort of why IMG has been brought in.
  9. In simplistic terms, the NRL grew out of a semi-pro Sydney comp to be a billion-dollar behemoth by building on what was already there in NSW, QLD and Auckland. It’s not so much true expansion as we would call it but repackaging in a bigger, shinier box. Although Melbourne is a big outlier it shows it takes tens of millions to take fish out of water and make them swim.
  10. Eddie Waring: Early bath Poor lad Ray French: And suddenly! Has he got the legs for the line? Why oh why… It’s there! Stevo: It’s T-R-Y time
  11. Rugby league will never be a national, Establishment-type sport. For historical reasons, it is a (big) minority sport mostly confined to the North of England. There is nothing wrong with being a Northern thing. So are Booths supermarkets and Uncle Joe’s Mint Balls, and that’s fine. The North is a big place. For me the way forward is to build on the game’s strengths, not try to compensate for its weaknesses by spreading the jam more thinly. Fish where there are fish.
  12. I hadn’t realised that the Broncos squad has no Northerners at all. Remarkable. Permit me to post this link again: FREE Broncos Game Ticket! Use code: afcbradford We have a special offer for you from the London Broncos as they look to secure a play-off place in their match against the Bradford Bulls this Sunday 17th. 13. Wakefield have spent bare minimum for too long and it’s finally caught up with them. Good.
