  1. Why would anyone buy a 32% stake of a club, and then invest 7 figures into the club just for IMG points.
  2. We've signed ex-London juniors that have been in the championship, I imagine the thoughts behind that are: 1 - They are cheaper than Northerners as we don't usually house locals 2 - Hoping they will play above themselves as a group as they have all mostly played together before. I'm not sure any of them are "really good signings" we'll see. Quite a few signings in key areas to not make it quite so Man Vs Boy next year.
  3. Artificially propped up to 24th.. If we get to a point where all these clubs have completed and achieved all possible points that they can get, RE: finances/stadium and the only thing left that seperates the top 15 odd clubs is their catchment figures then fine. But the majority of them have been around for 100 years and haven't grown and are run like £$"! just like LB is You don't seem to want to reward failing clubs but the last system did exactly that when LB was promoted.
  4. Featherstone have signed Wellington Albert for next year which is a bit of a surprise. I know he was London's highest earner last season and DH and other staff thought he was not close to worth it.
  5. Sure, people were posting their final league tables and you decided to call people lazy for not reading the competition rules. Unless something is in the rules that will affect the league table, I'm not sure it's all that relevant.
  6. You're the one that is ignoring every other metric. London get decent points for catchment, not full. Even with that, we are the 24th highest club because of the decades of under performance. There is no way that London are being rewarded in these gradings. We've been relegated from SL before the season has even begun.
  7. The majority of the people posting just seem to be doing a final league standings, I am not sure why the competition rules would matter for that? They're not going to deduct 10 points mid season for not having LED advertising boards.
  8. Wasn't there a report a few weeks back saying that Suaalii apparently has already told the Roosters chairman that he will be back as soon as his ARU contract runs out? I may be misremembering though.
  9. In comparison to the rest of the teams in the league? No, not particularly at all.
  10. I am sorry, but I must have missed all the posts and news articles a few weeks back where this whole system means London will be relegated for next season before this season has began. Remind me again how this system rewards teams like London that have failed miserably year on year? Rather than the current system of seeing London promoted to SL even though we have failed, as you say, failed miserably year on year.
  11. Joe Burgess will probably have to go on the other wing. To be fair to him, he greatly improved his performances when he went to the Rabbitohs before returning to SL.
  12. They're also a club who moved from South London to North London, It's almost like % compared to local population means absolutely nothing.
  13. Arsenal only manage to average 60k in a city of 9 million. Disgraceful %.
  14. Tbf, it's an award for playing, what... 2/3 games? Until the international game as a whole is respected more then awards relating to it won't be.
  15. Good bit of business from Halifax there then, to get any transfer fee for a 25 yr old winger going to another Championship side. Can't say I've heard of that before, without even thinking about the contribution towards the fee.
  16. Think I won't waste much time worrying about that over here until we get clubs rivalling the NZ Warriors, until then I think we're safe.
  17. Exactly, there is only so much you can do with your colours/strip of the club. A third strip that is different, but has the badge is good. It might be something someone feels they can wear when they aren't necessarily going to a game.
  18. I'm 50/50 on it. I don't necessarily think it is fleecing fans, fans have a choice of if they want to buy a shirt or not, they certainly don't have to buy more than 1. I think lots of Huddersfield fans probably have a very similar shirt to their home shirt, there is only so many ways you can do a V, but a 3rd one gives fans an option that may not have bought a similar shirt to previous years. If I was a Huddersfield fan, I would definitely be buying this third shirt to be honest. I am currently hoping for a good away shirt or magic/third shirt for London at the moment.
  19. It was a hard spell for Sarginson, he was often injured which definitely hindered his performances. It's often a shame RL is such a tough sport on the body, as a good injury free spell for him to actually settle into the NRL would have been good to see. Still think his performance against Australia in Aus for England is the best I've seen (for an English player V Australia/NZ) I hope he is doing well in his life after retiring from RL at a young age, gave lots of good memories for the clubs he played for.
  20. The first one you mentioned is now a brand that is known globally, worked well for them. (In spite of there being no lakes nearby)
  21. The season usually kicks off late Jan/early Feb. It'll probably won't be that difficult to other years.
  22. I mean, he signed an extension not long ago and since then there has only been uncertainty. Perhaps it isn't just cost saving in play here, but it would be naive to assume that or the whole situation the club is in didn't play a part in the decision whatsoever.
