Tbf this is one of the few Cas matches I've actively chosen not to watch. (don't live in Sunny Cas anymore). RL isn't a good 80 minutes when your team is not so good. 10% off and it's a blood bath. If your team is struggling from the season start then there's not a lot to go on entertainment wise. However, that teams that make their own luck just kills me. I'm old enough to remember Cas playing in 2017 and receiving many nothing penalties for nowt. No idea why a team who were being dominated were being penalised for no obvious offence. Didn't add anything to the contest. So would I have been entertained tonight? Yes, a good game despite the inevitable result. But for the sake of the popularity of the game do not kill the spectacle when /if it is not necessary. I'm not talking about manipulating results. I'm saying don't go out of your way to kill the game, teams should absolutely not make their own luck. I'm thinking this does not make the product on the pitch anymore popular to the passing observer(or does it?) Anyway, well done Wigan tonight and i'm hoping the GF isn't a tedious slog where I'm checking FB for something to do. Some interesting games tonight but I'm still miserable though

Even now Naples Museum is still my favourite. As so often though, if you know what you are looking at it's a real help, but you can't know everything!

State Of Origin - On a whole new level

The victory of hype over content. That's how it works. -
Or to put it another way, if the Authorities simply penalise a defender for something unavoidable/accidental caused by the ball carrier slipping then I'm wondering what that does to make the game safer. Anything? In fact if it is simply virtue signalling whilst players still get hurt then it seems cynical to penalise an otherwise innocent defender knowing it will achieve nothing as regards safety and still claim the moral high ground. Ball carriers will still slip into defenders and defenders will still be penalised and the game is no safer. Is cynical too strong a word? What to do about it? Helmets? Stop players running at each other? Grim.

Such a breath of fresh air as regards the ptb. Why have we allowed our game to be reduced to the present tedious ugly grub fest? (only for the Ref to penalise a valid ptb?).

BBC website - RL highlights
corvusxiii replied to BilliejoesBlue's topic in The General Rugby League Forum
My problem is that a match highlight is followed by a match from the week or two before which means you have to drop out and restart again. It can't be that hard for the BBC to suss this. Maybe it isn't. Is this just me? I do find it hard work when it shouldn't be. -
Can't hear the commentary at the pub but for what it's worth... The saints player got the ball, then the Wire player, then the saints player played the ball back out of the wire hands: play on. Wire picked up the ball and scored. No, I haven't got my spex and No, I'm not drunk and No, I'm not convinced but that's what I thought happened.
