  1. Well it is sport, albeit somewhat unequal.
  2. I'm on't ambition side. Sport is about competing, aiming to be the best. If you don't have the aim to win, why compete in't first place?
  3. Well there's two ways of looking at yesterday's game. From a Fax point of view you could say we were on't wrong side of Mr Grant, again. Likewise you could say we came up short, just, against a very well organised Fev team. As has been said the Fax no try, followed immediately by a Fev score, was a turning point but also throwing the ball straight to your opponent dosen't help either. There wasn't a lot in it and I thought Fev's defence swung it for Rovers. But the result aside it was great to be back at The Shay, hopefully next time we can be joined by away fans and have our usual pre/post match wander with our mates from Fev. Ossett White Rat 4.0% Mmm!
  4. That's just about how I saw it Robin. Victorian Cafe Bar . Titanic Plum Porter 5.9% Mmm
  5. You just show the gateman your hand. If you've got six fingers you're either from Featherstone or Todmorden and as such you're buggered.
  6. Nice ground, good win for Fax, great city, great pubs (Mean Eyed Cat, Newcastle Tap, The Strawberry etc) but that ticketing system was horrendous! Up The Fax!
  7. Hotel booked, tickets booked, pub tables booked. Up The Fax
  8. I recall fans from a few clubs descending on the hotel at Ainley Top to gently voice their displeasure I'm sure. The way the powers that be have treated certain clubs over the years is nowt short of disgraceful, I would say even illegal.
  9. I've been reading on't Thunder website about the return of fans for the Halifax game. There is no information regarding away fans. Does anyone have any info on this or am I going to have to put a funny accent on?
  10. Nowt. Sheffield refused weeks ago to move the Fax game 24 hours to allow fans in. The alleged virus situation causing Sunday's postponement arose this week.
  11. Sheffield have done the same for Fax's game. Absolutely incredible attitude after all that's gone on.
  12. I think SG has been backed to the hilt. Your second point regarding the players though is spot on. Fax have assembled a first 17 that look as good as most in the Championship. It is up to Grix to gel them into a team capable of, at the very least, a play-off spot. Rams 14v28 Fax.
  13. Blimey, me 'ed hurts!
  14. It all depends on which Fax turns up. At times so far this year we have been absolutely awful or almost unplayable, against Toulouse we were both in the same game! So as for predictions, I haven't a clue! One certainty though is I'll miss the trip to Stalybridge, one of my favourite days out.
  15. I haven't seen Dewsbury this time yet but if you're half decent you will take the two points. How Fax managed to conjour up a loss to the bulls last Sunday is still beyond me, we had nowt to beat and still couldn't get the win. Come on the Rams!
  16. There s some good points being made here and I agree with the comparisons between football and todays rugby league made by JPL. I've followed the game for nigh on 60 years and whilst it is a better game than the old unlimited tackles version undoubtedly, the Super League set up of today is not what I think of as Rugby League. As a fan of a championship club I feel that were almost playing a different game to SL and feel little or no affinity to parts of our sport such as the international game, the Challenge Cup or Sky Sports coverage. Sad but true.
  17. I've missed that then. 1 up and 1 down?
