England vs Samoa Series

At least they might have that chicken and chips van behind the south stand At Huddy for Tonga last year they didn't even have the normal burger van outside near where the cinema entrance is -

It was a criminal pick last year for the Tonga series.....he was sooooo slow when he was carrying it was untrue....struggles to get onside too Maybe he has a video or audio recording of Wane or something.... Wonder what it could be about -

Chris 'looks like he's running up a' Hill included Ye ****ing Gods that is an awful pick....even with a crocked shoulder surely Oledski is a better option? -
Was rough thinking Just added 35 in the SL to L1 but what do we count as pro?

I'm in two minds on this series now On one hand I really want us to send a message to the NRL and steamroller Samoa in both games But I have tickets for Headingly and can see value in them winning the Wigan game -
Nope it's all legit now SKY sports plus sometimes shows league 2 3pm Saturday kick offs now (not always)

You must be crazy....Mago and Sue don't play in the NRL....how can they be better than largely unproven NRL fledglings? -
Thinking of giving myself a new challenge of ticking off every pro ground next season Think I've done just under half so maybe about a 14 or so to do

Envisaging 2054
Bedfordshire Bronco replied to Bedfordshire Bronco's topic in The General Rugby League Forum
The people in charge of the NRL care about short term prestige and money ....maybe 1-5 years They could not care less about the longer term future if the game ...20 odd years down the road All the money and effort if Vegas could be channeled to international league....try and secure the sports future Men with egos who don't really care about what rugby league will be in 2044 as they won't be working in it any more -

Picture the scene ....it's 2054 and it's been 10 years since RL in England collapsed to amateurism. A combination of reduced national footprint and lack of national exposure meant no TV deal and pro clubs have gone bust. Just a few dozen amateur sides play on up north in a niche pastime Enter the NRL who 'see an opportunity' to kick start a new sport in the northern hemisphere NRL-ball. They pick England and France because a similar contact game of rugby union is already still popular They stage NRL fixtures and exhibition games in London to drum up interest and even talk about an English 'franchise' NRL team The NRL are confident that this will be a lot more successful than the long since abandoned Vegas fixtures in terms of drumming up international interest in NRL-ball

And another thing..... I used to be a WatchNRL subscriber and used to demolish all the content / shows Cancelled it after the BS that the Aussies pulled for the WC. I'd drifted back to it via watching most of the Sky games etc since the Saints WCC win.....was closeish this season to getting fully back into it with WatchNRL etc Not any more.....like Duncan Bannatyne I am now oooot when it comes to the NRL Hope we smash up/humiliate the NRL stars in the Samoa series ....I don't even want a tight contest now
-
Only under specific circumstances is that true Let's say Wigan lose to KR Saturday ....a magic fairy comes along and says "we can change history....if you agree to change the WCC win of 2024 to a loss against Penrith we will change the result against Hull KR' I'm pretty sure Wigan would choose a consecutive SL title over a WCC win

I have no words for this sorry state of affairs NSW and QLD Aussies can continue to delude themselves their game is massive when in reality they only cover a little corner of their country with a few Islands of 10,000s of people thrown in They have one of the richest nations in the world ripe to help expand the game into (UK). Yet they prioritize d***head schemes like Vegas that will at best solidify interest amongst existing rich Aussies and a few northerners This sort of **** will come back and bite them ....might be years ahead but it will

I went to the Tongan series games at Saints and Huddy and the match day experience was awful.... Not even the usual burger and chip vans outside the ground at Huddy There may be plenty of people put off by that experience for the Samoa games.....I swore I was one of them until biking my hotel and ticket recently I'm not saying I'm expecting a Super Bowl style event but maybe something approaching a normal SL match day experience would be the least to expect .... Like for example the normal food vans etc -

Anyone know what sales have been like? We've gone for south stand so not seen sold patterns elsewhere And when I say we have paid for the south stand we will of course move right to the touchline seats of the north stand where there is always seats and no one stops you anyway for England games -

I travelled up for a couple of the Tonga game last year and was like many underwhelmed by the match day experience Swore I would not bother again with England unless it was NZ it Aussies Anyway....I'm now booked into Headingly In a strange way I'd like us to lose the first game Any guesses on attendance at Leeds for it? My guess is 12,000
