  1. evidently 7 days from bankruptcy when gary persuaded caddick to step in and buy the shareholdings of the then board and guarentee the bak overdrafts thus securing the clubs future. . little thing not often spoken about is how caddick became involved as he had previously tried to buy his hometown club Castleford but was rejected by the Castleford board. now imagine how the fortunes of both leeds and Castleford could have been if the Castleford board had sold to caddick before the leeds situation was on the table .
  2. indeed, they will be but as Thirkill owns AGE PARTNERSHIP then following the logic that because caddick has a controlling interest in leeds then Caddick construction owns the club . if caddick construction owns leeds then it follows that AGE PARTNERSHIP owns hull fic. its either one or the other
  3. 2 years of losses against how many of profit . by the way Caddick has not had to put money in as such. one of his many companies just guarettees the clubs overdraft with the bank . so as long as the bank are happy with that then no money needs to be given.
  4. the parent company caddick plc does not own leeds rhinos it jointly owned by paul caddick who has 76% of shares and gary hethington who owns the remaining 24% . all because a rich man takes a controlling interest in a club does not mean his company owns it. for instance, does AGE PARTNERSHIP now fully own HULL F.C or does Andrew Thirkill just part own them. what Caddick did when he jointly bought the club was to guarantee the clubs overdraft through one of his companies, he did not pump millions into the club on a capital basis. indeed, when the cricket ground was sold to Yorkshire cricket for i think £15 million that paid off the club's debts and also provided a dividend for the shareholders . the club has given out several dividends to the shareholders over the years (both of them) and has traded profitably most years. the two years mentioned are those that were ruined by covid and given the clubs reliance on off field activities with its 365 days a year use of the ground thats no great surprise i think if you look at losses against asset values you will see there is no problem in the long term.
  5. leeds can and do. there owner does not loan the club money in fact he even got back the cost of buying his shares from the old board when leeds declared dividends a few years ago
  6. so would a number of other clubs that have director's loan ect.
  7. has the RFL received the money from SKY yet so that it could indeed hand it over to Salford as the one thing we are always been told is that the RFL has no money . that been the case they could not help Salford out.
  8. if this had come to light before the gradings were finalised, would it have had any impact on the points Salford received?
  9. Almost every seating ticket I thought they said . still its 1,500 more than the Wigan attendance so not a bad effort.
  10. those figures especially at the bottom were rather influenced by the lower clubs redirecting money to other projects to raise there IMG scores i think. certainly Castleford admitted as much
  11. problem there is getting someone of proven quality to replace him. theres some good young players who can and have done well in spells out there this season but there still a couple of year from regular starters . if any of the backs goes i see newman been more likely to go with plenty of interest from Australia
  12. thats a big IF though and getting them back is not a given . perhaps starting next season with a clean slate is a better option. it worked for York a few years back
  13. im not expecting a mass of new signings three forwards and a utility back i guess from outside the club . this season has not been a disaster as a good number of young players have come through this season and there more to come so with brad Arthur and his experience i expect more from the present players when next season starts . in my opinion leeds took the easy route of bringing into the team signings who were no more than squad players and a number of them will be gone before the new season starts to be replaced by the young lads who have shown promise this season and a few that will be pushing for game time next season. the mcormack brothers will be pushing for a few games and when they hit their stride will be well worth watching.
  14. you can only spend up to the cap and leeds have done that. its more a case of who is let go to release the money in the cap. Donaldson is one thats going at the end of the season but they will need to let a big money overseas player go i would think . more than likely fusitua yep i know i spelt it wrong.so along wtih martin that's two well paid overseas players gone
  15. is it the players showing no integrity or the directors ?.
  16. when did they get paid because all the talk is of them not been paid for 5 weeks. mind you unpaid backroom staff have also walked out .
  17. what about the backroom staff. physios and doctor ect . without them no game can take place.
  18. always go back to the beatles so here we go. HELP.
  19. if you can find a reliable source/person to back your extravagance then it is indeed living within your means as of course you have a guarantor for your debts. just make sure you keep a defibrillator handy.
  20. these are the rugby league express annuals printed each year . i have them from the first one in 1996 to 2021-2022 season all good condition available collection only from east leeds due to weight
  21. fair enough but its the over ambition without the financial ability to pay for it that caused the financial problems whoever was in charge. live within your means has always been my mantra .
  22. or the anti Christ depending which version of the comic book you read
  23. to right
  24. you should try a bible study group in Belfast. maybe on the bridge that divides sandy row from Grosvenor Road . now that would be a scrap of biblical proportions .
