Agreed, I’ll be dragging six or seven pals from Norfolk to the game at Headingley, with the carrot of a night out in Leeds, but I’m not expecting the ground to be full or much of a spectacle. That said they all really enjoyed the NZ v Fiji WC QF in Hull, even though the weather was awful and there were about 8,000 in the ground.

Tbf it’s not just Whitehaven, while I accept SL clubs are under no obligation to help anyone but themselves, if they do nothing to help the semi pro divisions or community game it won’t help super league in the long run.

I know, but unless you’re aware of this website the place you’d look is the Whitehaven online shop, where you’d expect there to at least be a link to the kit sale site.

If all clubs in a bad way financially stepped aside we’d end up with about five teams in all divisions.

And loads of other people, which is why there are countless websites, forum threads etc devoted to attendances, they are openly published alongside match reports in many publications, and the crowd reacts when it’s announced at a match.

Newspapers can be online, stop trying to be clever.

Nations will have to start organising their own tournaments if they want matches, though they’ll then be accused of being renegade.

I wouldn’t, loads of people are interested in attendances, it’s why newspapers publish them.

No idea, but it’s important to a lot of people.

According to Keighley’s ground safety officer, match reports have to include the attendance. I can’t confirm if that’s true or not but I’ve got no reason to think he’s lying, in which case the I formation is available but not made available to the public. I find that strange, like more and more clubs have something to hide.

Evidently the clubs do provide it though.
