  1. RL media for you. I've banged on about it for ages. They look at WHO's done something, whether they're mates with them, does twitter hate that club, will i get a load of likes for lambasting that club or the RFL instead. Then decide whether to be for or against them. I find it a very sad this state of affairs. Aston always struck me as someone who will never admit they're wrong. I think Aston got it into his head that it was an RFL technicality why Marsh couldn't play, rather than proper protocols to protect the player. While ignorance isn't an excuse, if he had put his hand up, apologised, offered to do some education on it, he would have been back coaching Sheffiled at the beginning of this season and we'd have all moved on.
  2. The thing I don't get with this bridging loan usually is to tie a company or individual over until some money/a deal comes in. I could understand this if the council were still negotiating with Salford. But they've walked away from negotiations. So what money is coming into Salford to service this bridging loan?
  3. From the players point of view, let's say he "does it for the fans" and plays. Then does his ACL. Then in two weeks Salford enter administration are wound up. Then what for Sam Stone and his family? Maybe he's wanted answers/information about the HMRC hearing that's coming up, none have been forthcoming and has decided he can't risk it. If that HMRC hearing wasn't in two weeks, then I can see where you're coming from. But as above, in two weeks he could be out of a job.
  4. Looks like there's been a surge in ticket sales as lot more blocks appear be sold out now. 28 blocks I make it.
  5. There's isn't a live table or score. It's Gledhill deliberately bending the truth making out there's a live league table and spinning a narrative of Bradford being in SL. Honestly the majority of fans wish he'd do one from any association with the club. He certainly won't have any idea of other clubs scores and I doubt even Bradfords. It will just be a case of clubs knowing what scores they've got on certain pillars, eg facilties etc
  6. Don't disagree with any of that, but on the flip side, Bradford spend circa £150k a year on a fully functioning academy setup, from reserves right down to U15s scholarship. It's also a very successful academy setup rather than one in name only. We get zero points for that whilst other teams just fund a first team with very little underneath that. Every team has strong points and weak points and we'd be here all day discussing those which is why you'll never find a perfect grading process as most clubs are far from perfect.
  7. Actually expected far more of a meltdown on this topic than occurred (which I think the poster was mischievously trying to gain) Ignoring Gledhill (and if people are still shocked he tries spinning a narrative of Bulls being in SL, more fool you) My guess is that it will be close between Bradford and Toulouse, it could (ironically) come down to who wins the grand final between those two and gains the additional 0.25 points. Without ruling out a very good York, Oldham team BTW.
  8. Fantastic news. Arise Sir Billy.
  9. The ones at the back are the worst seats, but I think a fair few would suggest being at the front of the third tier, on the halfway line is a better view than other parts of the stadium. Hence a lot of them seem to be getting snapped up. The unavailable seats are currently grey. As I said the fact they were faded colour suggested that would be released if the lower bowls started selling out (which they haven't) If the lower bowls had stronger sales and a lot started getting sold out, I believe the faded colours would now be in bold and for those prices. I don't believe we'd be seeing the £20 prices they currently are IMHO
  10. I could be wrong (not sure if anyone could get the original seating map up to back my point up) but the seats on the third tier were faded green which suggested to me there were going to be the same price as behind the sticks (£45) I get people's argument that they couldn't advertise £20 seats as they didn't know if there was going to enough interest to poke that section, but it's the whole optics and history with rfl selling tickets. Wait long enough and cheaper tickets will become available. Whether intended to be discounted or not. I don't believe ticket sales have been that strong the last few weeks for a decision to be made "well we need to open the third tier now lads" I reckon sales have slowed and they want a push, so have introduced another section of cheaper tickets to maybe encourage more fans. So I think in a way it is discounting IMHO
  11. I enjoyed it. Both teams gave it their all in atrocious conditions and some players could barely walk towards the end. Fair play to York for sending the ball aout wide to get in a position to win it. A passing ball is quicker than a fatigued player! I still can't fathom Fev passing out wide with a minute left with Reynolds lined up for a drop. Congragulations to York.
  12. I'm not. You look at the intelligence and even biased of some of those who are able to vote. Just voting for the name. To be fair to Lewis, EVERYTHING was having to go through him. But how anyone can say he was the best player on the pitch. Congratulations to Hull KR, happy for their fans. It must have been agonising and an unenjoyable experience for 79 minutes.
  13. Was going to comment the same. This is a high quality game in tough conditions. Teams going set for set. Fantastic
  14. Probably the Paul brothers for me. For different reasons. Robbie. The face of Bull Mania and everything that SL was dreamt about being. Young, good looking, on every media outlet. Even the kids at school wanted to be him rather than a footballer. A joy to watch on the field in his pomp too. Henry - probably the best player I've ever seen in a Bulls shirt. Unreal player.
  15. I've always thought there is. I know it's staggering, but no matter how many teams you have 14, 12, 8, 6, the team at the top will always be significantly better than the one at the bottom. Maybe the premier league should look at reducing their league. The NRL is still expanding, despite there being some rubbish teams there. The West Tigers were truly awful last year, yet no one was saying don't expand the league. The issue is some teams aren't very good at developing players, but I think there's teams who could come up that would significantly add to the player pool. Toulouse - should have access to a decent amount of French talent. 2 French teams works well in a 14 team league. London - If they sort themselves out ( i don't think rushing them in SL for 2026 is wise) but they've a huge talent pool down there and have procured some outstanding players in the past. Bradford - as above. Despite being in the champ a decade still one of the higher teams producing players for SL. Widnes - Like London, if they sort themselves out and had access to SL money, they've proved how good they are at producing young players in the past. Widnes is a hotbed for RL. Getting rid of their academy was one of the most short sighted decisions they've ever made. The big thing 14 teams will solve is loop fixtures which i believe have gone from being an annoyance, to an absolute cancer on the league. In the next 5 games St Helens factures are Salford(A) Leeds(H) Salford (H) Hull(A) Leeds(A) It's a farce an impossible to market. The issue is if teams are prepared to take a cut in the short term, to improve the league long term.
  16. Welsby out for four months. Hopefully fit for the Ashes but if he misses the rest of the season, and his first game back is the first Ashes test, that's an almighty gamble.
  17. Bulls sneak a late win at Doncaster. Lost 3 men to injury, Donaldson in the 1st minute, Gill early in the first half and then Lilley early in second. So to still get a win against a tough Doncaster side is a massive two points. These type of wins are more important than smashing someone 50-0.
  18. Batley didn't even have any proper coverage on twitter which I just find increidble in this day and age. Even most amateur teams have pretty decent social media setup.
  19. A fun way to look at it is it makes us all feel better about our credit card bills...
  20. Yeah but they'd have to be some sort of plan. I doubt HMRC will accept "yeah don't worry we'll pay you back, don't worry about the fact we've just taken yet another loan to meet last months payroll" Even the "promise" of clearing debts once a stadium deal was reached may have been accepted. But that's now dead in the water as the council have left the table. I just don't see any viable way out of this sadly.
  21. But it's not an RL matter anymore. They need £600k in four weeks time. The RFL won't provide that.
  22. If the owners aren't prepared to fund the wages, why on earth does PK think they'll fund a £600k tax bill in 4 weeks time? I don't see what buying another month does. If I was a friend of his i'd be taking all his cards, phone etc to stop him from this madness.
