BBC1 to BBC2

BBC have changed their schedules because Andy Murray is playing on centre court. He has been moved to BBC1

It was being shown on BBC 2 and The One show from Glastonbury has been moved from 1 to 2 to accommodate this.

Why?

I'm not bothered about watching either but if I was I can't see any difference in watching one channel or the other.

50 years ago some people might not have had BBC2 but now is it possible NOT to have both channels?

What do the BBC gain by mucking up their own schedules?

Trust me, you move 'Eastenders' just once in a decade from BBC1 to BBC2 because, say World War III has broken out and the braindead fans will deluge the Beeb with demented complaints. Something to do with them being very very stupid, I'd guess...
