Please see below announcement regarding Peterlee Pumas 

It is with regret that the National Conference League Management Committee have to announce the withdrawal of Peterlee Pumas from the competition. 

The North East-based side’s departure brings their two-year stay to an end and means that Division Three will operate with 11 teams in 2015. 

“We will be looking to increase the number of teams in that division to a minimum of 12 from 2016,” said NCL Chairman Trevor Hunt. 

“We would also like to wish Peterlee Pumas every success for the future.”

Shame, especially with the entry of another NE side. Coincidence?

I'd say yes as Gateshead is about 17 miles away but may be wrong. Can't see Peterlee returning to the North East League. Maybe they'll play in Yorkshire. Real shame though with their junior set up

Could make a strong Gateshead team if some of the Peterlee lads do want to continue playing NCL.

I think it is just a coincidence they both have established open age teams and different player bases im absolutely gutted was so looking forward to full blooded derby games

maybe 'Peterlee players' going to Gateshead storm now but if had moved before they folded you would have to ask why?

Is that true they've completely folded? Would fit in with there not being any response to this from the club

they haven't folded just pulled out of NCL report in rugby league express says they're still looking for friendlies

As I said earlier in the thread no Peterlee players have signed for Gateshead Storm before or after the pull out from NCL of Peterlee
