Colin, regarding the bus to St Helens, myself and Gary are funding the bus.

So nothing will come out of kiss funds.

It's just a way of giving something back to the fans who have supported our events over the years.

As regard to the other point, it was stated by cyc at the meeting that it was a package deal, all or nothing.

But know where your coming from regarding the players.

What do you think we've been doing? Just moaning about Guildford 'cos we don't like him? I'd accept Robert Mugabe as Chairman if he could get us somewhere decent to play FFS. Pretty clear to most now that the only way the players will be training at St. John's and playing at Bootham Crescent is if Guildford goes.

 

If you keep backing him, you're in a roundabout way causing the players to have no training or playing facilities so it's more up to you than it is up to me & KISS to help sort this now.

Why should the council give any concession however small to the staff of a company whose sole shareholder and only decision maker they have refused to deal with due to his well documented behaviour? Can't think they'd assist the staff of a shop doing their job if the owner decided to perform like Guildford has.

 

How can you not get your head around that? Just try and see it from a business point of view rather than "the lads" & "the club" and it's blindingly obvious.

Also thought you guys were in daily contact with the people that matter and might have had some influence - also in my opinion KISS would get more support by helping get the players back to St Johns as opposed to putting on a free bus to St Helens....

 

There is only one person who can get the players training at St John's and he could actually pay to use the facilities just like any other sports club does. If you haven't got a problem with the FREE bus why did you even mention it.

BUS - again pretty simple - great gesture by Ian & Gary to do the bus, point I was making was KISS (believe me) would get greater credit from ALL CONCERNED if they could intervene to try and help sort things for the coaching & playing staff even if it was just on a short term basis

They've both said they are more than happy to let the players train at St. John's, play at Bootham Crescent for 2 years, then move into a brand new 8000 seater stadium and would be delighted for them to do so, which is exciting isn't it! 

 

All they have asked is for John Guildford to not have any part in the decision making or negotiations regarding York City Knights and the new stadium . So if you can get John to "get just this one very, very small concession granted" then we're laughing!

Many thanks for that Gav. The question remains. Who is telling the truth? Actually, I'm amazed that after all this time it's taken someone like yourself to try and get some answere to all the ducking and diving. I would have hoped our local Press, the mouthpiece of the City, would have found time and space and shown enough interest to have done something similar ages ago. I can't help thinking if it had been the football club or one of the theatres or the racecourse or some bike ride that was heading for oblivion, it would have been front page headlines practically every day of the week until it was sorted. They're often spouting on about "the Press campaign" for this that and the other but don't appear to think the dire straights the Knights are in warrants one. I wonder if they realise that several hundred local residents parted company with around £100 each for season tickets for this year yet we haven't even a ground where they can sit in a proper stand in relative comfort to enjoy a game. The Press claimed last Saturday one of the Knight's directors resigned 3 weeks ago. The knghts issued a statement around the same time saying NO director had resigned. I would have thought The Press would at least want to clarify that point but no, not a thing is said about it in this weeks editions leaving the supporters with another puzzle to ponder. The whole thing stinks!

Perhaps you should write in to the press with this? Eventually if more people show which direction the support is going on this issue they may change their very biased stand point (though I doubt it!!)

Any sports club can book time at St Johns Nestle Rowntree Park but obviously there is a charge to use the facilities. If it is so important to the club why are they not paying to use them?
