PREVIEW: West Hull v Doncaster

Dons News

Recommended Posts

Doncaster Rugby League are on the road in the Ladbrokes Challenge Cup third round this Sunday as Gary Thornton's men travel to Conference Premier Division side West Hull (2pm).

The Dons will be looking to progress in another cup competition for the second successive week, following last weekend's victory over North Wales Crusaders which saw Doncaster advance into the second round of the iPro Sport Cup.

David Foggin-Johnston and Jordie Hedges both scored a brace in that win and they will be looking to add to their tallies on Sunday.

Gary Thornton will however be without Hull FC dual registration trio Jordan Abdull, Kirk Yeaman and Iafeta Paleaaesina who played in last Sunday's win, to ensure they are not cup-tied for their parent club.

Sam Doherty and Tom Carr who missed out last week could be in contention to return, whilst stand-off Jordan Howden could make his completive debut after missing out in recent weeks through injury.

Sunday will be our second meeting with West Hull in the Challenge Cup, with the Dons having run out victorious 28-6 at Belle Vue back in 2004.

Like the Dons, West Hull are yet to get underway in the league this season, however have tasted competitive action twice this campaign, to progress to round three of the Challenge Cup.

In round one West Hull overcame the Great Britain Police with a 36-4 victory, before beating Hunslet Parkside thanks to a drop-goal in a 19-18 away victory in West Yorkshire to set up a third round tie with Doncaster.

Tickets for the game are priced at:

Adults: £10

Concessions/Juniors: £5

The address for West Hull Community Park is:

North Road,

Hull,

HU4 6LQ
