Recognition at last

Recommended Posts

Whilst Rovers tend not to get a lot of coverage in the national press, I dont understand this article.

30 years since what? Nothing. Im confused by the relevance of the reference to 1986 which is wrong anyway as Rovers STAYED UP with the late draw. That was the whole point of the controversy.

But still.

And this thread's title? Also confusing and incorrect. Daryl Powell's team of 2010 to 2012 got a lot of recognition for what it achieved on and off the field. Including a Guardian editorial in the print edition (is this piece in print or just online?). JOn

Sharp's class of 2016 are showing promise but are only just beginning to think about scaling those previous heights.

Fev certainly weren't relegated at 'Fax in 1986.  'Fax needed a draw to win the Championship and Fev needed a draw to stay up, and the result was  -  a draw.  But according to the article it's 30 years since certain clubs planned a breakaway league.

“Few thought him even a starter. There were many who thought themselves smarter. But he ended PM, CH and OM. An Earl and a Knight of the Garter.”

Tenuous connection at best. Weren't Fev one of the certain clubs anyway? IIRC it was about reducing the number for clubs in the first division, nothing more at that stage. Lazy and inaccurate journalism.

How does this constitute "recognition at last" for Fev??
