It's absolutely irrelevant what he did in NRL, he's not playing in the NRL he's playing in SL next season so judge him on that.

As you rightly say, stats dont tell the full picture and that has to be evenly balanced with what else they bring to the team.  Fonua was 1st choice this year before injury and just claiming a regular starting spot in the NRL means he can play.  No question of that.

IMO his best position is Centre and he always seems to get his hands free.  Whoever is outside him will get plenty of opportunities.  

Buchanan will be the next one pushing for a place in the backs.

That's fair...........and is also the reason why NRL clubs weren't queuing up for Hurrell. Unfortunately his mistakes often undo all the good work. I agree that Fonua's best position is centre..............I don't think he's as good as Hurrell with his passing or defensively but Hurrell is making a worrying number of mistakes which are really costing Leeds atm

Thing about these type of blockbusting, power players is they can make anything happen.  It makes for a great spectacle too.

I think KH really made his name with his ball carrying aggression and tackling until they found out most were leading elbows and shoulder charges.  Still a handful.

They can, I suppose I prefer the traditional finesse of a centre. I’d much rather see someone like Martin Gleeson or Oliver Gildart
