 Daft as a brush front rower who would run into a brick wall in the firm knowledge he  could and would go through it. Only his dad was dafter.

I once remember a game where he came on 10 minutes late on the Foster's field for the Pats against Rose Bridge  derby after his dad had masterminded how to stick on a  kitchen sponge on his head to cover  an injury from the previous days Inter Town schoolboy match

Pat's under 18's just edged it. Those were the days.....

Thoroughly enjoyed reading that. If I remember rightly, Johns wife was a midwife and delivered my eldest........safe hands ; )
