bigbaldnmad
My guess is they don't want too... will make more money from individual game streaming.
The Phantom Horseman
Two messages from Jamie Hobbs on the FB page a week ago: "we are aware of a bug in the payment process due to security upgrade on the merchant. We're working with our provider to upgrade the payment step" "The issue has been identified and it’s a significant piece of work to upgrade. The club are aware and prioritising it. Commentary willl be free until the payment process is resolved" As regards the original question, it does look like we are going to use Recast as well as RoversTV for replays and interviews. This seems sensible as it means the club can not only offer individual games to Rovers fans who might not fancy a long-term subscription to RoversTV, but also to fans of other clubs who might have an interest, including overseas. For instance, I reckon that the Toulouse home game replay - if it's not chosen by ViaPlay and switched to Monday night - would get a fair few purchasers when it comes online. eltel
Finally some info regarding why rovers tv has and still is having major problems with not being able to rectify their inability to receive payments which has been going on for over a year now. Hopefully the same people supposed to be controlling rovers tv do not get anywhere near the running of the rovers team which finally seems in good spirits after dumping mac just need to stop letting in easy try’s now and bang at last a realistic chance of super league just hope we can keep hold of long. Jamie Hobbs
Only just been made aware of this thread... Apologies for the issues with processing payments for RoversTV subscriptions. Stripe the payment processing merchant upgraded their security procesdures and the RoversTV site built 5 years ago was incompatable. The company who built the site for us go media have recently changed hands and we have been working with them to size the effort involved to upgrade. This would need to significant investment and so weve had to understand the return on investment compared to the Recast model (which was launched for an additonal payg/opponent revenue stream). The club have comissioned the upgrade which should take place this week possibly leading into next. We will continue to offer content as PAYG for the casual watchers and operate RoversTV for loyal fans with a significant saving. Apologies again for the lack of communication and responses. While the payment upgrade is ongoing I will ask them to add a FAQ and support contacts so any issues can be resolved promptly going forward.
