If you want any encouragement to become a match official, just trawl these threads to see all of the support that you'll be sure to get from the fans once you qualify.

Plenty of budding refs at games standing on the terraces or sitting in the stands who won't need much training at they say the know all the laws of the game, and the same with out of work coaches who know the laws of the game better than the refs when you hear them talk in post match interviews after their team has lost.

Come next season there will be lots of match day officials with all these people from the terraces and stands who knows the laws of the game better than the present day match officials
