YouTube and ad blockers

If the adverts were for  products or services that seemed genuine, that would be better than what we have now.

Dodgy fad diets (that's not an actual "ketogenic" diet, you absolute testicle), crypto bros, consumer goods manufactured by forced-labour (Temu) or kiddies in sweatshops, lifestyle gurus (I see Tony Robbins is on the road/grift again), bad science, bad faith bad science, political propaganda, "free" games loaded with malware and on and on.

And it's even worse for us RL fans, because the mighty algorithm can't differentiate between Rugby League and the other lot. This means that, on top of all the ads, we also get videos recommended to us about some half-talents who steal a living waddling about in the 15-man code.

Let me never fall into the vulgar mistake of dreaming that I am persecuted whenever I am contradicted.
