It was Sam Houghton who sent Roberts off. But I agree with your comment, it's bad enough getting carded for dissent at any time but if you've lost your temper with the ref in the first 5 minutes of a game that's really unprofessional.

Irrelevant who the referee is, although Rush didn't do Roberts. There's no need to say anything to the referee, he isn't going to change his mind.

To be fair all sports are getting tougher with what players say a couple of weeks ago an Ice Hockey player got a 12 month suspension (6 months of it suspended) for calling someone a fag out.
