FRANCE head coach Laurent Frayssinous has named an extended 40-man squad ahead of this autumn’s World Cup.
France begin their campaign on October 16 when they face Samoa in Sydney, before Les Blues take on England in Perth on October 24.
Frayssinous’ men will end their group games against Lebanon on November 1 in Sydney.
Unsurprisingly, there is a heavy Super League contingent in the squad, which will be reduced to 24 before France head to Australia.
Catalans Dragons have 13 representatives – including the retiring Ben Garcia, who will become the Dragons’ sporting director after the World Cup.
Toulouse Olympique have 11 representatives, with Super League Dream Team second-rower Mathieu Jussaume one of them.
A surprise name among the 40-man squad is new Catalans signing Amir Bourouh, who was born in Huddersfield but has Algerian and French heritage.
There are also call-ups for South Sydney Rabbitohs back Latrell Siegwalt and former Fiji international forward Joe Drodrolagi, who plays for Carcassonne.
