Full-back berth not yet decided for Robins at Wembley

Hull Kingston Rovers coach Chris Chester has revealed he’s not yet decided who will occupy the full-back berth at Wembley this Saturday for the Challenge Cup final.

Both Ben Cockayne and Kieran Dixon are in the running to play at No.1 against Leeds Rhinos, and Chester told the media yesterday that he’s aware someone is going to be disappointed on Saturday afternoon.

“It’s a tough decision. I’ll have another night to think about it. They are both really good full-backs who are bundles of energy and there is going to be at least one of them disappointed.”

Cockayne himself admitted he’s sweating on the call, but is praying that he is the one who gets the gig.

He said: “I’m not sure if a decision has already been made on that or not. We’ll have to just wait and see.

“I’ve just got to hope and pray I get the nod.

“Our games are very different. We bring different qualities but it’s definitely put an edge on the number one shirt in terms of the competition.”
