It’s not about me on Saturday, insists Sinfield

Leeds Rhinos captain Kevin Sinfield has deflected the attention away from his final appearance at Wembley this weekend, and has insisted it’s about the team and not any romance concerning his last Challenge Cup final.

Sinfield will lead Leeds out at Wembley for the final time on Saturday when they attempt to defend the Challenge Cup they won 12 months ago against Castleford.

And he said that the whole group are determined to create history this weekend, and says there’s still a while to go before he brings the curtain to go on his career in the sport.

“It’s not about me,” he said. “I’m looking forward to going out and playing the best I can and try to help the team do something special on the day.

“I think we’ve got a really determined group who are focused at this moment in time and I’m one of them.

“I’m aware my time as a rugby league player is coming to an end but it’s two months before that happens.”
