Warrington Wolves have suffered a major injury blow after it was revealed the versatile Gary Wheeler has been ruled out of action for up to two months.
Wheeler has picked up a knee ligament injury in his comeback game from injury at the weekend, when he featured for League 1 side North Wales Crusaders against Keighley Cougars.
The 25-year-old had missed a run of Warrington’s recent games after picking up a calf tear in the build-up to a game against St Helens last month, with reports suggesting the club are waiting to hear back from a surgeon’s assessment on Thursday before finding out how much action Wheeler could miss.
The club handed Wheeler a one-year deal after arriving from the Saints.
