Greg Eden extends loan deal at Salford Red Devils

Greg Eden has extended his loan deal with Salford Red Devils, with the Hull Kingston Rovers full-back set to stay with the club beyond his current one month deal.

Eden’s initial deal with the Red Devils is set to expire imminently, but Salford boss Iestyn Harris has decided to keep the Robins star on a week-by-week basis, with Craig Sandercock having the option to recall him at any chosen period.

And Sandercock admits that although Eden is a talented player, the performances of Ben Cockayne – plus the option to recall at short notice – made it an easy decision to keep the full-back out on loan.

“Greg is getting to where we need him to be,” Sandercock said. “Obviously there are parts of his game he needs to work on, that’s why he’s not playing first grade at our club at the moment.

“But he’s a really good player, and he’s such a good player that we want to be able to call him back at short notice if needs be.”
