Whitehaven have benefitted from North Wales Crusaders’ financial woe by signing forward Ryan Duffy for the rest of the year.
Duffy was one of a number of players that left the Crusaders after they asked for players to take reduced salaries due to their ongoing issues.
And Haven have been proactive in recruiting Duffy to boost their squad ahead of Saturday’s match with Sheffield.
Football director James Robinson said: “We had to move quickly to secure Ryan’s signature. He is a big unit and we hope he will give more forward power. I am looking forward to hopefully seeing him in his first run out on Saturday.”
