WHITEHAVEN have agreed an extended contract with their halfback Ciaran Walker for another year until the end of the 2027 campaign.
Walker, 23, was a junior with the Seaton Rangers club. He began his professional career with Workington Town, making his first-team debut in 2022 against Featherstone Rovers, before going on to spend four seasons with the club, making 44 appearances, scoring twelve tries, 119 goals and one field-goal for 287 points.
He was fhe League 1 Young Player of the Year in 2023.
He joined Whitehaven prior to the start of the 2026 season, making his club debut at stand-off half in the opening match of the season against Sheffield Eagles, as Haven fell to a 4-11 defeat.
Since then he has played 20 games for the club, scoring ten tries and 68 goals for 176 points.
He currently stands in joint fourth place in the Championship goal-kicking table with 66 goals, and he is in second place in the points scoring table with 172 Championship points. He is a member of the current Championship team of the month in Rugby League World magazine.
Walker currently holds the longest active scoring streak in the British game, scoring points in each of his last 16 games.
“I’m absolutely loving it here at the moment,” commented Walker.
