Hay leaves Featherstone

Featherstone Rovers have parted company with head coach Andy Hay.

A brief statement on their official website says, “Chairman Mark Campbell and Andy Hay have been unable to agree on circumstances surrounding the clubs recent form, which has led to these new developments.”

The news comes just one day after Featherstone’s defeat, at home to Dewsbury, which has resulted in Halifax leap-frogging them in the race for a spot in the middle eights.

On Wednesday, the Rovers had produced their best win of the season when they defeated the Bradford Bulls 18-37.

Their capitulation at home to Dewsbury on Sunday, however, when they relinquished a 20-6 lead before losing 30-32, appears to have been a `final straw’.

Rovers’ home form has been disappointing this season.  The Dewsbury defeat completes a clean sweep of defeats at the Big Fellas Stadium, by teams in the top seven of the Kingstone Press Championship.
