Police are currently investigating allegations levelled at former Parramatta Eels star Jarryd Hayne.
“The investigation is being led by detectives from the Child Abuse and Sex Crimes Squad. No further information is available at this time,” said a police spokeswoman.
The alleged incident happened on Grand Final night on September 30th. The victim had been in touch with Hayne and he travelled to the house and engaged in sex. The woman is reported to have suffered injuries during the encounter and claims to have evidence to back this up.
A complaint was first made to the NRL integrity unit, which then notified the NSW Police Child Abuse and Sex Crimes Squad.
Hayne is currently without a club after finishing his contract with the Eels.
This isn’t the first time Hayne has been the centre of sexual assault allegations. While playing for San Fransisco 49ers in the NFL, it’s alleged Hayne committed a sexual assault on a woman, who made claims of sexual battery, gender violence, infliction of emotional distress and negligence.
