Hodgson “not worried” about door incident

Canberra Raiders and England hooker Josh Hodgson has insisted he is not worried about the fallout from his controversial off-field incident last weekend, when he charged shoulder first through a door just hours after England’s Four nations defeat to New Zealand.

Hodgson was disciplined by England for the incident, with Canberra chief executive describing their new signing’s actions as “unacceptable” after it happened.

But Hodgson, who has begun pre-season training with the club this week, says that whilst he admits he made a mistake, he isn’t concerned about the reaction it has drawn – insisting it was just a joke.

“I’m only human and I made a mistake,” Hodgson told Raiders TV.

“I’ll learn from that. I like to think I’m a professional bloke.

“I’m not going to worry too much about it. It was nothing malicious, I thought it was a joke and there would be nothing more from it.”
