New Warrington Wolves signing Ashton Sims admits he’s slightly nervous about making a mark with his new club in 2015 – but says the welcome everyone at the club has given him so far has made the switch across to the other side of the world seamless.
Sims arrived in England earlier this week ahead of starting a two-year contract with the Wolves, which covers the 2015 and 2016 seasons. And the Fiji international told the Wolves’ official website that he’s been made to feel part of the club already, saying the passion of the Warrington fans has been a fantastic surprise to encounter.
“I’m a bit nervous, I’m not going to lie. I’m other side of the world but one thing with Rugby League teams is that everyone makes you feel welcome. That’s what I’ve felt from the Warrington Wolves so far – meeting all the staff and people who work at the club,” Sims said.
“It’s been great moving over and I look forward to meeting my teammates and enjoying some blood and sweat with them before we start the season.
“I’ve been to a couple of shops now and a couple of fans have come up to me, said hello and said how excited they are for me to be here. That’s what makes it so much better for me; the fans are really passionate here.”
