Huddersfield Giants sign York Valkyrie youngster

HUDDERSFIELD GIANTS have handed a Super League opportunity to former York Valkyrie Under 19 player Izzy Swallow.

The winger featured regularly for York’s Academy side last season but will now look to step her game up to the next level with a side who have a special family connection for her.

“Izzy is a great addition to our squad and brings a lot of energy to the group,” said Giants head coach Nathan Graham.

“She has a real turn of pace and is very enthusiastic around training. She will bring quality competition for the wing positions and also she will be looking to do her grandparents, who are Giants supporters, proud.”

On her move, Swallow added: “I am excited to join Huddersfield and begin this new chapter.

“I am grateful for the opportunities I had at York, who played a key role in my progression as a player, and I’m now looking forward to embracing the challenge ahead, working hard within the group and representing this club with pride as they push for a top-four position.”
