Scheduled for screening at Huddersfield ODEON on Tuesday May 21st, the accaimed film Power Meri is facing cancellation due to inadequate ticket sales.
It features the PNG Orchids, and how their stand for the right to play Rugby League is helping to progress equality for women, in general, in a country where they still have little or no say outside the home. This entertaining and occasionally funny film, about the power of one Womens Rugby League national side, has been praised both for its social significance and as entertainment.
Without registering just 30 pre-screening ticket sales, however, the event will have to be cancelled.
