Hull forge link with the All Golds

Hull FC have established a link with the Bristol All Golds, the club that has inherited the mantle of the University of Gloucester All Golds club that played in League 1 for five seasons between 2013 and 2017.

Hull FC Academy Director Danny Wilson has now joined the All Golds’ board as a non–executive director, after the All Golds secured the agreement of Hull owner Adam Pearson (pictured).

”Naturally we all wish to proceed in the proper professional manner and securing the approval of Adam was an absolute prerequisite,” said All Golds Chairman Lionel Hurst.

“We have studied Danny’s track record for some considerable time and are delighted to secure his services.

“The imposition of our Player Performance Pathway: Primary to Professional is a paramount consideration. His remit will encompass all aspects at both our Bristol and Gloucester bases.”

In addition to his club duties Wilson is also the England Youth head coach, a member of the Super League laws committee and a RFL coach educator. He is happy to be now part of the Bristol and Gloucester project.

“I’m very excited to be given the opportunity to work with such a driven board of directors in order to achieve their key objectives,” he said.

“There is no doubt that there is an appetite for our great sport in Gloucester and Bristol and I am looking forward to playing my small part in helping that grow.”

The All Golds will run a Rugby League Academy at South Gloucestershire and Stroud College (SGS), with the support of the college’s CEO Kevin Hamblin.

“As part of my role at Hull FC we have worked closely with Lionel at the All Golds and Kevin at SGS and I’m sure that relationship will continue to flourish,” added Wilson.

“My focus within this role will be to help build some robust player development pathways that will allow the All Golds to be successful long term.”
