CATALANS DRAGONS head coach John Cartwright praised Lewis Dodd after a man-of-the-match performance in their 34-24 victory over Bradford Bulls.
“He’s really starting to form some good combinations with his back-rower, half, fullback and hooker,” said Cartwright.
“There’s a lot of points around them and it’s really pleasing to see.
“He’s got a bit of everything in his game, he’s got a running game, a passing game and he’s got a kicking game.
“I’ve only been here a month, but for me he’s getting better with every game he plays.”
While pleased with the Dodd-led attack, Cartwright wants a renewed focus on defence.
“We want to keep them to nil every week – that is the plan – but it is what it is, we’ve just got to keep working at it and keep improving,” he said.
“On the left edge we had to make some changes when Tommy Makinson went off so we had blokes playing out of position.
“The best defensive teams win trophies so it’s something we just have to keep working on.”
