Influential Hull Kingston Rovers halfback Albert Kelly held no punches when asked about Hull Kingston Rovers’ chances in 2016, stating they must be smarter in 2016.
The Rovers gained a reputation for being one of the most exciting teams to watch last year, although their defensive frailties hampered their progress in Super League.
It’s a frustrating fact for Kelly, who admits they must make adjustments tactically to succeed this season.
“We’ve got to be brutally honest with ourselves and improve our game-plan for 2016. There’s a few areas that we need to definitely pick up, intensity and quality-wise,” Kelly told the Hull Daily Mail.
“We’ve got to be more professional in a few areas but it was a good chat with Chris (Chester) at the end of the season.
“You’ve got to take the bad with the good. We had a rollercoaster season, ups and downs and we’ll learn more from the negatives than the positives.
“Going into 2016, we start fresh and we’re looking forward to it.”
