Widnes Vikings captain Kevin Brown has confirmed on social media that he has signed a new contract with the club.
Although there has been no confirmation from the Vikings publicly, Brown himself took to Twitter to confirm the news that he has committed to the Vikings for another three years.
He wrote on Twitter: “Absolutley delighted to extend my contract and be part of this great club for another 3 years @WidnesRL”
Brown is now believed to be under contract with the Vikings until the end of the 2018 season following the deal.
He is in arguably the form of his career at the moment, and heads into tonight’s game against Hull FC with an incredible 13 tries to his name in all competitions.
“It’s an incredible feeling to have signed a new deal. I am really excited about having the chance to be part of something that’s been building ever since I joined the Club in 2013,” said Brown.
“When I was given the opportunity to speak with Denis (Betts) and James (Rule) about extending my stay here, I was ecstatic. I’m playing with some of the best mates that I’ve ever had in rugby; people who make me laugh every single day, and I couldn’t be enjoying my rugby any more than I am at the moment. The last three years have gone so quickly. I guess that’s an indicator of how much I’ve enjoyed my time at the club.”
“I cannot thank Denis enough for the way he has helped me. I think he
has developed into one of the best British coaches in the game.”
