Leeds Rhinos are in talks to re-sign former hooker Paul Aiton for the rest of this season, TotalRL can reveal.
The 33-year-old has not played for the Dragons for over two months, and League Express reported earlier this year how Aiton’s future in the game was in doubt due to a number of concussion injuries.
However, the Rhinos are reportedly now keen on bringing back a player who spent two seasons with the club in 2014 and 2015 to bolster their squad for the remainder of the Super League season.
It is unclear how long any deal for Aiton is, or whether it could potentially be for a role on Leeds’ new-look coaching staff.
But the Rhinos are in talks to re-sign the Papua New Guinean international and bring him back to Headingley – with Aiton understood to be on his way to England as recently as Wednesday afternoon.
