Leeds Rhinos heading to Lake District after statement win

LEEDS RHINOS will be rewarded for their impressive 34-6 victory at Warrington Wolves with a weekend in the Lake District.

Brad Arthur’s side went clear at the top of the table with Thursday’s win – a twelfth in 15 games this season as title hopes grow.

The coach said: “I like the fact that the team is becoming very reliable and know exactly what they are going to get from their team-mates – it fuels belief.

“We’ve had a focus on being a bit more professional with our away performances.

“We showed great resilience on our tryline early and our starting middles were very physical.

“We were playing a very good opposition, but we knew if we played at that intensity then we will be hard to beat.

“That’s how we like to play, and if we want to chance our hand, we’ve got to aim up defensively.

“There’s a really good understanding of what works for us, and we’ve got a lot of talented players on the back of our middles.

“It’s an important win but mainly around our changes of approach to travelling away.

“It sets up next week – we are going away on a little camp to the Lake District over the weekend. I’m very grateful to the club.”
