JAKE CONNOR is good to go for Leeds Rhinos’ clash against St Helens on Friday night, with Danny Levi also set to make his long-awaited return.
Man of Steel Connor left the field early during Leeds’ 66-16 demolition of York Knights last weekend, having only kicked their first four attempts from the tee, with a tight calf.
But head coach Brad Arthur has alleviated any potential concern over the halfback, confirming: “Jake Connor is good.
“Obviously we have a short turnaround of five days and he did a light walkthrough yesterday. But, he is fine and on track to train today and play this week.
“After the game, we had a little bit of concern as we didn’t know what happened.
“He got a whack in the first-half on his shin and it moved around to the back of his calf.
“His calf tightened up and that’s what scared him so we thought we would get him off straightaway.”
Meanwhile, Levi is back in contention for the first time since being stretchered from the field with a neck injury during Leeds’ loss to Castleford Tigers back in mid-July.
“As long as he gets through the final session today, will come back in and we will ease him back in at some point in the second-half,” Arthur said of the hooker.
“He is excited. He is comfortable and his family are comfortable for him to get back out on the field.
“We are just happy for him to play again. His energy back around the group has been a good lift for us.”
Centre Jack Bird is also back for the Rhinos after completing his concussion protocols.
