Hull FC coach has praised winger Tom Lineham for his performance during last night’s win against Widnes – and said he put a few wrongs right from his performance last week.
Lineham had what he described himself as the worst game of his career last week, making a number of errors despite Hull hammering rivals Hull KR at Magic Weekend.
But he bounced back with a hat-trick during Hull’s 25-12 win against Widnes on Thursday night, and Radford believes that it’s just rewards for the hard work Lineham is putting in every day in training.
“He’s a genuine individual is Tom; he knows where the try line is and he certainly likes to keep me on the edge of my seat,” said Radford.
“It’s great for him; we lost Fetuli yesterday as well as Setaimata Sa, and I thought Richard Whiting also came in and did a great job. But Tom definitely put a few wrongs right from last week.
“Tom came into Rugby League really late, and his awareness of the game is certainly what we’re trying to work on, but you’ve got to give him credit. He works on things so hard and you can see it in some of the finishes he comes up with. I’m confident when the ball comes near him because he works so hard on the training ground.”
