Massive improvements possible, says Smith

New Wakefield coach Brian Smith has insisted that he’s determined to enjoy his time in Wakefield – and says there is the potential for “massive improvement” at the club.

Smith will land in the UK on Friday before watching Wakefield take on Leeds on Sunday afternoon. He will then officially take charge of first team affairs on Monday morning following that game.

And Smith believes that there’s the potential to turn things around, and he’s backed himself and the club to get the job done and keep Wakefield in Super League.

“I am really intent on enjoying life in Wakefield and having a lot of fun and to do that you need to be winning,” he told Boots N All.

“Massive improvements are possible. Hopefully we can work really hard and smart in the next four or five months.

“There’s an opportunity there for us. No one is going to do it individually, I certainly can’t. My gift is in trying to unite people to recognise what we all can do together. I reckon we’ll do it.”
